“When he had spent everything, there came a severe famine in that country, and he began to be in want.” Luke 15.14

In this passage, Jesus is speaking of the prodigal son, who, having spent all his father’s inheritance, began to starve. So we can say of those who have enjoyed the intelligence, the health, the sun, the water… They spend all that they have mindlessly, they do not see the gift of God to them. But when everything begins to fail in their lives, they run to the Father, and even though they do not deserve it, He rescues them. And, through obedience to His Laws, God offers them a new life.
