Who is she? - Cristiane Cardoso - English | Cristiane Cardoso - English

He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. (John 1:8)

Soon after John wrote this, he begins to speak about John the Baptist:

Now this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?” (John 1:19)

John the Baptist was the first one to represent the Lord Jesus during that time and he did it so well that the world wanted to know who he was. They even came to think he was the Messiah! Have you stopped to ask yourself why? How can someone represent God so well to the point of being mistaken by Him?

He was different than the other men in that time. He was fearless, true, sincere and courageous. His words were captivating, not because he spoke well, but because it was as if God Himself was speaking through him.

His goal in life was not to be famous but to proclaim the Lord Jesus, and because of that, he became very famous.

Many people converted through him and became his disciples, not because he wanted followers but because he was a born leader. Multitudes followed him, to the point that the governor during that time, Herod Antipas, feared killing him and thus creating a revolution.

God was never seen by anyone, but many represent Him very well. Men and women that served and serve as reference points of His Existence.

And you, what kind of reference have you been of the God you believe in?

Another believer in the crowd or a reference of Him in this world?

John the Baptist was different. Are you different from the other young girls and women in the world or do you blend in with all the others? Do they admire your living faith or are they indifferent towards it?

John the Baptist lived a routine whose focus was to reveal the Lord Jesus. Have you done this or have you been focusing only on yourself?

John the Baptist wasn’t only of the faith, he influenced others through his faith. What type of influence have you been to those around you? Do people want to follow or ignore you?

A true testimony is not just saying how good God has been to you, healed you, blessed you or delivered you.

You have to be your testimony.
