The anchor of the soul

And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hopeuntil the end, that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patienceinherit the promises. Hebrews 6.11-12

Abraham suffered, faced the desert, and endured many difficulties to get to Canaan, but because of his constant faith, patience, and perseverance, he reached his destination.

For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, saying, “Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.” And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. Hebrews 6.13-15

An anchor is a device used to hold a vessel in a particular place by means of a fluke that digs into rocky, muddy or sandy bottoms, securing itself in a safe position to withstand currents and strong winds.

…who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 6.18-20

Hope is the Anchor of our soul, which gives us the assurance and courage to endure all the trials and afflictions that arise in the waters of the sea of life.

An interesting fact is that an anchor is usually shaped like a plus sign with protrusions at the end of each arm, which causes it to look like a cross.

When we are perseverant and patient, clinging to the foot of the Cross, we will never lose hope of Salvation.

Therefore, NEVER JUMP SHIP!
