Now it came to pass when the king was dwelling in his house, and the LORD had given him rest from all his enemies all around, that the king said to Nathan the prophet, “See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of God dwells inside tent curtains.” 2 Samuel 7.1-2
God is righteous in all His fullness; only He knows what is deep within a person, their true intentions and desires. In this passage, we find the reason why David was magnificently blessed, because God knew his innermost being.
David did not think about building a kingdom for himself, a house in his honor, no! His ambition, his ardent desire was to implant the Kingdom of God here on Earth, and so he longed to build a house in honor of the Lord God, that He would reign in.
For David, Israel was the Kingdom of God here on Earth. He understood that he was not the real king of Israel, but the Most High, so he strived to make Israel advance more and more each day to become a stronger nation.
The same happens today with the true servants of God. They want to build temples where their Lord and God can dwell and reign, this is, they want to save souls! Therefore, they are ready to sacrifice each day of their lives for the lost, the suffering and the desperate.
They aren’t looking for an acknowledgment or promotion, they don’t want their names written on a plaque, they don’t want a round of applause, they don’t want anything from this life, they aren’t worried about their future or their life, they are anonymous to many, but well known by God.
These men and women are scattered throughout the world, passionate about the work they do as servants, and therefore never waver, because their only purpose, as long as they’re alive, is to implant the Kingdom of their Lord and God here on Earth, through His church. For this reason, they are willing to do anything.
Only those born of the Spirit possess this ardent desire. However, those born of the flesh, the Lots of this world, those who look back, those who are walking towards Sodom and Gomorrah, because they want to live their lives and satisfy their ego, which is controlled by the devil…
May the Lord God Almighty preserve, uphold, uplift and strengthen His true servants until the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
