The “Come and See” event held on Sunday (21st) at the Act City event hall in Hamamatsu city, Shizuoka, Japan, brought together thousands of people of various ethnicities and religions. Japanese, Filipinos, Indonesians, Hispanics, Chinese, Brazilians, among others, came from throughout the country to experience the Power of God.
Pastor Fabio Ribeiro, who is responsible for the work of the Universal Church in Japan, ministered the meeting and read the promise of the Lord Jesus to those present, which says:
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11.28
After this teaching, the people went before the altar to invoke God, seeking the solution to all of their problems.
By using their faith, people were healed and delivered. Many made a point of witnessing at the moment:
“I was healed right now. I had a lump in my leg that was bothering me for the past 2 months. During the prayer, I was determined to find my miracle in Jesus. The lump is gone, I’m healed!” – said Neide, who is Brazilian.
Mr. Ichiba, from Japan, also proved that miracles do exist. “I lost the movement of my arm after suffering a stroke. During the prayer, I used my faith. I wanted to be healed, and a miracle happened! I had been suffering from this for five years.”
Though the positive external results were evident, the greatest of all miracles took place within each person, because everyone had the opportunity to surrender their lives to God and find peace.
This peace is much sought after in Oriental countries, but not always found with success. They have such an inner void that Japan is one of the countries with the highest suicide rate in the world.
Aware of this sad reality, on the same Sunday, also in Hamamatsu, we held a “Walk against Suicide”. The walk called for more peace, understanding and love. It caught the attention of people passing through the streets of the bustling city center.
No matter the place, difficulties or differences, where there is suffering, the Universal Church will strive to be present and lead people to the abundant life the Lord Jesus promised those who believe.
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. Matthew 24.14
