We don’t choose to come into the world, but we have the power to choose where we’ll spend eternity.

And He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury, and He saw also a certain poor widow putting in two mites. So He said, “Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all; for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God, but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had.” Luke 21.1-4

The Lord Jesus taught us that the Altar sanctifies the offering. While observing – which He could have been doing anything else, but just as He observed in the past, He continues to observe nowadays –, He was paying attention to the consideration those people had for the Altar. Everything we do for the Altar, we do for God.

Our choices and decisions reveal our priority.
And, of course, we do a lot more for the things and people we consider more important.

Face to face with the treasury, the rich did more for themselves and less for the Altar. But the poor widow did more for the Altar and less for herself.

It is important to note that the more one does for his own life, the less he receives. Proof of this are those who come to church at the age of 30, 40, 50 and who have always done everything for their lives, yet they don’t have anything.
On the other hand, the more you do for the Altar, the more you benefit from the Altar. The poor widow, for example, is recognized and honored to this day.

The secret of life and faith is to always do more for the Altar!

For example, you have a grudge, and you don’t want to forgive, but still, you forgive.
Who did you do more for, yourself or the Altar?
When you forgive, of course you did more for the Altar!
If you did not forgive, you would be doing more for yourself, and consequently, lose the opportunity to receive Salvation.

Salvation is at the disposal of all who do more for the Altar.
