We don’t choose to come into the world, but we have the power to choose where we’ll spend eternity.

The more time passes, the more we compare the events that took place during Jesus’ time with those of the present day. We can see how similar they are and how our Lord, at that time, warned the disciples about the same situations that we hear, untiringly, God warn us through Bishop Macedo.

I’m talking about the baptism with the Holy Spirit. It is not enough to attend church, receive a miracle here, and another there; it is not enough to exercise the function of an assistant, pastor or bishop. The Work of God is only complete in a person’s life when he receives the Seal of the Holy Spirit.

No one lived closer to the Lord Jesus in this world than His disciples. Imagine living with Jesus daily, seeing Him face to face, hearing His voice, eating with Him, seeing Him cast out demons, heal the sick, raise the dead, walk on the sea, receive His teachings, etc. How wonderful would this be?

However, it was not enough for Jesus to consider Peter converted, since at the end of 3 years, living side by side with the Master, Jesus told him:

…and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren. Luke 22:32

To Philip, He said:

Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? John 14:9

To Thomas, He said:

Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing. John 20:27

Only after receiving the Spirit of faith were they able to put biblical faith into practice, which became the weapon to face and overcome hell, persecutions and adversities that came after Jesus was raised to heaven, and carry on His glorious Work to this day. Before this, He said:

I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth… John 16.12-13

It is very clear here how important it is for a person not to become complacent after achieving material, physical, or sentimental blessings. Strive to receive the Holy Spirit; He is the guarantee of our Salvation.

In Him you also trusted, after you heard the Word of truth, the Gospel of your Salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance… Ephesians 1:13-14

For you to be of God it is necessary to be born of Him and receive the Seal of His Spirit, otherwise:

…Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. Romans 8:9
