In a small rural town, the garbage collectors went on strike, and the garbage truck stopped coming around. The strike lasted for months. It was unbearable to see so much garbage scattered all over the city sidewalks and yards; the smell was awful.
A citizen, who couldn’t put up with his yard being full of garbage and with such a stench, said, “I know how to get rid of all this garbage!”
He bought cardboard boxes, gift-wrap, and some bows. He put all his trash in the boxes, wrapped them up and decorated them with bows. He went to the public square, opened the car trunk and left the boxes in plain view. He hid behind a tree and watched patiently.
As people passed by, not seeing anyone near the car and thinking they were being clever, picked up the boxes and ran away, believing something very valuable was inside. But, when they got home, and opened the box, they were sadly disappointed, because what looked so beautiful on the outside, reeked and was full of garbage on the inside.
Conclusion: Many people have brought the garbage of this world into their homes. Unfortunately, there are many people full of garbage inside, and they want to pass their garbage onto others. There are also those who, consider themselves to be very clever, and pick up these boxes filled with deceit, without realizing they’re contaminating themselves.
Here are some examples of garbage people want you to take home (your interior): doubts, fear, malice, pride, rebellion, unbelief, hatred, etc. These evil feelings corrupt man and keep him from God.
Take care of your inner being.
