shutterstock_527338330-706x471Her charming voice and confident eyes caught Ahab by surprise. He wasn’t supposed to fall in love with someone like her, it was just not part of the plan. Jezebel was a Phoenician independent and powerful princess who strongly believed in Baal, a promiscuous religious god at the time. Ahab, on the other hand, was the king of Israel, whose people believed in God. But he let his heart overcome his faith and married her anyway.

As soon as the princess became the queen, things changed in the palace. Suddenly, Jezebel was the one calling the shots, while Ahab just gave her support. She brought her pagan beliefs to Israel and did everything in order to make it Israel’s official religion. Jezebel played dirty by killing many of God’s prophets, replacing them with Baal’s prophets, and encouraging the people to commit idolatry and sexual immorality.

And for a time, she did it so well, her popularity sky-rocketed. She appointed herself a prophetess of Baal. Talk about woman’s power!

When a woman is not of God, she can truly make a mess out of things. She tears her marriage apart. She traumatizes her children for life. She leads men to the cemetery. She destroys reputations. That is how powerful a woman can be, it’s funny how the majority won’t recognise it though. They incite their husbands into doing what’s bad, their boyfriends into leaving God’s ways, their friends into contaminated conversations, and yet, if you try to help them see the mess they’re preparing for them to fall into, they’re suddenly the victims…

Be aware of Jezebels. They’re everywhere, like a plague in this society, killing thousands just by their sweet talk. When their victims finally realize what they’ve done, it’s too late, they’ve fallen in Jezebel’s trap.

PS. Jezebel died in a tragic death. She messed with the wrong people, she messed with the people of God.
